Throughout the year we take on an extensive variety of remodeling and major renovation projects for our clients throughout the Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Northwest D.C., and surrounding areas. Bathrooms and kitchens are as popular as ever, of course, but perhaps no area keeps us busier that our renovation projects as more and more homeowners outgrow their homes here in the area and seek reinterpretation of not only the size of their home, but the flow of their floor plan.
From bathroom makeovers to whole house renovations, we do it all, so with that said let’s do a quick check-in of a handful of our projects this past week:
Silver Spring Powder Room Gets Desperately Needed Update
A time machine might be a great plot device in the movies, but when it comes to bathrooms, nothing torpedoes a home’s value like outdated bathrooms, and yes, that includes that first level powder room too. When were called into this Silver Spring home our mission was clear – help our client’s turn this 1970’s era powder room into an room that is not only an asset to their home’s value, but it’s design aesthetic as well. Pretty straightforward stuff here – everything must go! After clearing out the old tile wall tile, flooring, and fixtures we rebuilt and updated from the walls in for a brand new and updated bath that is not only fully up-to-date with modern code, but matches these homeowner’s design tastes as well.
Bethesda Entryway and Foyer Makeover
For those of you who have followed along with our recent monthly newsletters you know we’ve been very busy at this residence in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area. In the rear of the home we enlarged the drive, reengineered and built stately brick wall to flank it, and remodeled the garage and rear entryway. Now, comes the front of the house. For all of its classic brick beauty and charm, the entryway had grown terribly dated for the owners, and as you’ll see below, the design of the coat closet by the front door made for a tight fit, so we’re going to reorientate the coat closet and move some utilities that are jamming up the works as guests enter the front door. That plus additional custom fencing for the ground wills keep this Artistic Design Build team busy as we close out January.
